Strength Training for Women - Part 1
Strength training has been a proven
to benefit to all populations, from youth athletes
to seniors. Women in particular, see a fabulous
benefit from strength training. Conventionally,
women relied on cardiovascular activity and
a low calorie diet to change their physical
appearance. Unfortunately, low calorie diets
punish the body and plummet the metabolism.
Also, aerobically overtraining can lead to injury.
We now know that strength training is absolutely
essential if we wish to create visual changes
in our bodies, and we've discovered that the
benefits of strength training extend far beyond
the visual.
Benefit 1:
Combats Osteoporosis
Strength training decreases your risk of developing
osteoporosis by stressing the bones and increasing
bone mineral density. If you already have osetorporosis,
strength training can lessen its impact
Benefit 2:
Increase Lean Body Mass
Strength training increase your lean body mass.
Lean body mass is the muscle mass underneath
your body fat, that burns calories 24/7, allowing
you to actually eat more calories without gaining
weight. It also improves your visual aesthetics
by body contour enhancement.
Benefit 3:
Increases Muscular Strength and Endurance
Daily tasks like lifting shopping bags and children
become safer with decreased possibility of injury.
Benefit 4:
Combats Possible Adult Onset Diabetes
Strength training improves glucose metabolism
which will in turn lower your chance of developing
adult on-set diabetes
Benefit 5:
Increase Resting Metabolic Rate
Regular strength training will increase your
resting metabolic rate. This means that because
of the strength training you will burn more
calories from doing your daily activities as
well as just sitting still!
