Strength Training for Women - Part 2

As a continuation from my last article, here are reasons 6-10 for why women should strength train.

Benefit Six

Improves Cardiac Function
Strength training will improve cardiac function and circulatory capability by increasing HDL. HDL or High density lipoproteins are the “good” cholesterol and are compared against LDL.

Benefit Seven

Decreases LDL
Strength training will decrease LDL or low density lipoproteins, the “bad” cholesterol. LDL’s transport the bad cholesterol the arties and is associated with atherosclerosis, heart disease, heart attacks, and strokes.

Benefit Eight

Improves Physical Abilities
Stronger muscles improve posture, provide better support for joints, and reduce the risk of injury from everyday activities.

Benefit Nine

Decreases Intra-Abdominal Adipose Tissue
Strength training will decrease the adipose tissue or “bad fat” that collects in the abdominal area. This fat puts you at a higher risk for heart disease, stroke as well as other ailments.

Benefit Ten

Improves Confidence and Self Esteem
Studies show that people who exercise are 40% less likely to suffer from signs of depression, anxiety and low self esteem.

Please keep in mind that these are only ten of the hundreds of benefits of weight training. So do yourself a favor and call for information on SST’s Fit and Lean program and get strength training today!
